Two minutes
Asus launched a new VivoBook Pro model to India, initially targeting professionals in creative space. Among them, the OLED VivoBook Pro 14 laptop with 11-gen Intel Core-i5 SOC comes as a middle choice to satisfy designer requirements that have a strict budget.
However, this is a choice that is equally great for anyone who does not want to compromise with other aspects such as design and display while focusing only on performance.
Build quality is superior to the price and 2K OLED panel is just the right addition.
In addition to helping users in creative space with color-accurate display, laptops look like a decent option for anyone who consumes most content from the laptop. With 100% DCI-P3, the display throws clarity and does not put pressure on the eye.
However, there are several cons, which may not be too disturbing. Like most Asus laptops, speaker placement is not ideal. Asus can choose for full HD cameras. Battery life can also be better. But, overall, this is a good choice compared to the other with the same specifications.
We would not recommend this laptop for anyone looking for heavy computing assignments such as 4K video editing. Laptops may not be suitable for heavy gaming, even though you can still do some light games, thanks to the graphics selection of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 1650 discrete.
Price and availability
The price of the ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 OLED is RS. 74.990 in India. It is available to be purchased from the company’s official website in a silver choice that is quite blue and cool. This model has an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB NVMe PCIE SSD.
Build quality of the ASUS VIVOBOOK Pro 14 laptop feels premium, thanks to the lid and metallic chassis. The laptop follows a mono-color pattern and offers a matte final result which makes it look prettier. It has a design that is quite sleek and weighted 1.4kg and doesn’t feel heavy at all. There is no flexible anything on the lid or on the keyboard. Also, there is no shake screen when you open the lid and this tells Asus has thought of some serious thoughts on the design.
Asus has emerged with a new logo that shows “Asus VivoBook” engraved in silver on a metal patch (in the same blue). This new logo that might take around 2×3 inches on the right side of the lid can interfere with some users, but actually add some aesthetics to the lid that is metallic finish-mundana.
The whole finish on the lid makes it friendly fingerprint, which means catching stains. It can even catch scratches easily so you have to be careful enough.
Hinges on VivoBook Pro 14 OLEDs are the same as those found on other Asus laptops, which are wrapped inside Polycarbonate.
The keyboard offers a good travel distance, which means there is no difficulty typing. Asus hasn’t made a big change here, even though it has highlighted the Enter key with a twill pattern so as to break the monotonous. You can set the keyboard backlight to three different brightness levels, starting too low to too high, according to your convenience.
As stated by Asus, the size of the touchpad is relatively large and indeed “silk-smooth.” In fact, it offers smooth butter navigation, and easy. According to ASUS, the touchpad is 50% greater than the previous VivoBook-VivoBook. There is a special key on the keyboard to lock the touchpad too, maybe for the people you like to use shortcut keys.
