Chipotle will open the first “digital kitchen” later this month in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the company was announced on Friday. The location “Chipotlane” will be smaller than traditional chipotle restaurants. It won’t have a dining room (although there will still be a terrace seat) and will only present digital orders created through the restaurant, mobile application and platform websites like Doordash. You can take your food either through Drive Thru or Walk-Up Windows.
The opening is the highlight of a process that began in 2019. At that time, the company said it would be redesigning its restaurant to serve online and cellular orders better. That year, the digital chipotle business has grown to $ 1 billion. Pandemic greatly accelerates the trend. Last year, digital sales contributed more than half of all chipotle sales. It is a trend that tends to continue because the company opens more locations online.
