India has a doubtful difference to be one of the top countries in the world where smartphone users receive a maximum number of spam calls. According to TrueCaller, caller application and call blocking, India was in the ninth position on this list last year but moved to fourth place in 2021.
The company subsequently revealed through the annual global truecaller spam report that the country rose this list of doubts due to a substantial surge in telemarketing and sales calls. This can be a bad sale result during post-covid-19 locking and locking which causes non-touchpoint sales.
This report highlights that the same as a pandemic and locking affects the pattern of human communication, the same behavior is also proven in the spam pattern tracked by TrueCaller.
The company said they had helped identify as many as 184.5 billion calls unknown and identified 586 billion messages. TrueCaller users made 99.7 billion calls and sent 7.8 billion messages during the January and October period this year.
This further referred to US spam reports released earlier this year to show that as many as 59 million Americans reported losing money for fraud between July 2020 and September 2021 with an average loss of $ 502 per person. It numbered $ 29.8 billion which was surprisingly if extralatulated throughout the country.
