How to Find Steam’s Screen Capture Folder Using Steam Client
There are different ways to find this elusive steam screen capture folder. The easiest and fastest way to find the Steam screenshot folder is steam itself.
In the menu bar, click “View” and select “Screen Captures” from the drop-down menu. If you took screenshots, they will be presented here where you will have options on what to do with them.
Although interesting in itself, what we are looking for is the button at the bottom down that says “Show on the disk”. By clicking on it, you open the file explorer on your system in the directory where this specific screen capture is stored.
If, for any reason, you can not access the STEAM client and you need to search the Steam image file recorded on your system, do not despair. There is definitely another way to retrieve this file – although it varies depending on the system you use.
How to Find Steam’s Screen Capture Folder Using the File System on your computer
If access to the steam screenshot folder is not possible via the STEAM client, you can simply check the file system on your computer directly. This does not mean you need to check each folder on your hard drive to find it. The fastest way to do it is simply open the Steam’s installation directory.
The search and opening of the Steam installation directory depends on the operating system you use.
On Windows 8 and Windows 10, the default value is C: \ Program Files (X86) \ Steam.
On a Mac, the default value is users / {username} / library / application support / steam, with the user name being the Mac user name, not the user name of the steam.
