This tournament will take place in the T20 format because it will function as a massive warming opportunity for 6 Asian teams participating in preparation for the T20 ICC World Cup which is ready to take place later this year in Australia.

As many as 6 teams will participate in the Asian Cup this year which include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are 5 teams that have been confirmed so far. UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong will play qualifications for the 6th place in the 2022 Asian Cup.

Asian Cup 2022 Places

The 2022 Asian Cup will be held by Sri Lanka. Previously, the tournament was scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka. However, due to the ongoing political and economic riots in the country, the Sri Lanka cricket decided to change the main tournament.

Then, it was decided that the UAE would be a new place for the tournament. Therefore, the Sri Lanka cricket will host the tournament in the new place of UAE. Because the UAE is a tournament site, three reasons will host all matches. They are the Dubai International Kiket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and Abu Dhabi’s cricket stadium.

Asian Team 2022 Cup

As many as 6 teams will participate in the upcoming edition of the Continental Championship. Five trial countries from the continents, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan have received direct qualifications to the tournament while the remaining team will order their place through the qualifying round.

UAE, Kuwait, Hong Kong and Singapore will fight in qualifications for places at the main event. Qualifications will begin on August 20. The four teams have reached the last qualifying round after going forward through regional qualifications.

Asian Cup Group 2022

The team has not been divided into groups for the 2022 Asian Cup. In the last edition, there are six teams and they are divided into two groups of three teams each. Group A consists of India, Pakistan and Hong Kong while Group B has Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

As far as the format, each team plays another in a complete group. The top two teams of each group then meet the requirements to meet the requirements for the second stage, called Super Four.
