All Spicejet flights departed on time according to the schedule in the morning and “there was no impact” on the schedule following the DGCA order yesterday, the airline officials told MoneyControl on July 28.
“We want to convince our passengers and travel partners that our flight will operate on schedule in a few days and weeks. Spicejet is sure to increase its operation and overcome any concern that regulators might have about priorities, “they added.
The statement came after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 27 which was limited to Spicejet flights up to 50 percent of the departure approved under the summer schedule. The order followed the review and observation of various reports reported by domestic operators between April 1 and July 5.

As soon as the order, Spicejet responded to DGCA’s actions that said that they would obey the direction, but noted that the airline had seized the operation before the Lean travel season. The statement added: “Observation of DGCA that Spicejet takes steps to capture the trend of the incident very encouraging and we will continue to work under the guide near the regulator.”
Abundant problems
DGCA’s temporary orders came only a day after Spicejet responded to the notification of the causes shown by the regulator presented to the airline on July 6 because of its failure to offer air services that were “safe, efficient, and reliable”. The regulator gave a three -week airline to respond to the notification.
DGCA said in a temporary order that on several occasions, the aircraft returned to its original station or continued to land to the destination with a degraded safety margin. The regulator also notes that there is poor internal safety supervision and inadequate maintenance actions that result in the degradation of safety margin.
Furthermore, financial assessments conducted by DGCA in September 2021 have revealed that Spicejet operates with cash and carrying and suppliers/ vendors that are approved are not paid regularly, which leads to the shortage of spare parts and often request MELS.

DGCA has started checking spots on Spicejet aircraft on July 9 and completed the same thing on July 13. Domestic transport has been under the regulation scanner since July 6.
Passengers lose faith?
The incidence of obstacles in Spicejet flights has been reduced over the past few weeks, but the new survey has revealed that passengers have begun to lose confidence in the budget operator after a series of incidents were revealed. About 44 percent of Indians traveling on domestic air routes said they avoided spicejet flights due to safety problems, a survey conducted by Moneycontrol and Localcircles on 6 and 7 July showed.
Low-cost carriers on July 5 reported that the Delhi-Dubai flight was diverted to Karachi; The flight of his trails must make a priority landing in Mumbai after the cracks developed in the windshield air; While the airline transport aircraft, heading to Chongqing in China, had returned to Kolkata after the pilot realized that the weather radar was not functioning.
Other technical obstacles faced by Spicejet include the smoke coming out of the Delhi-Jabalpur flight cabin on July 2.
Previously, on June 25, a Spicejet Q400 aircraft had stopped taking off at Patna Airport when the aircraft’s door warning lights were illuminated. A similar problem has occurred on the Spicejet Q400 (Guwahati-Kolkata) flight the day before.
On June 19, the airline reported two incidents and May 20, around six airline flights that lacked money were postponed because the airline did not delete the payment in advance.
