Google failed to attack the agreement that would allow it to continue to offer access to YouTube TV customers to the Disney channel. The technology giant warned customers a few days ago that Disney channels, including ABC, ESPN and FX, may be lost before midnight on December 17 if they cannot reconcile the cost of the carriage. At that time, it was optimistic that it could get the results he wanted. But now, Google has told the customer that the company cannot reach an agreement before they end despite negotiations for several months.
The company said negotiations fell even though there was the best effort but that “will continue the conversation with Disney to advocate on behalf of [viewers].” Disney, however, told streamable in a statement that Youtube TV had “refused to reach a fair agreement with [company] based on market terms and conditions.”
The company added: “As a result, their customers have lost access to our unparalleled portfolios including Live Sports and News Plus children, family and general entertainment programming from ABC, ESPN networks, FRX channels, freef freefs, and national geographical channels . We are ready to reach a fair deal with Google as soon as possible to minimize the inconvenience to the YouTube TV viewers by recovering our network. We hope that Google will join us in that effort. “
Google has lowered the price of Youtube TV for $ 15 a month (from $ 65 to $ 50 for Basic Tier) while the Disney channel is not available on the platform. For now, it suggests viewers to register for Disney Bundles at $ 14 a month if they want to continue access to the deleted channel from Youtube TV.
